Lost and Found

Haunting dreams show forth their truth
waking moments fade in time
Lost from self, from playful youth
found in depths of sleeping mind

Longing heart draws strength from sun
rain and snow and leaves and sky
Lost from self, from child-like fun
found in depths of gazing eye

Mending soul finds peace at last
'lone in thought to courage find
Lost from self, from doubting past
found in hope of better times

Ghosts of a girl lost long ago
haunt my dreams, how I miss her so
Child-like wonder brightens her face
when fingers find themselves enlaced
with those of one whom she holds dear
who keeps her safe, with naught to fear
Never letting her feel alone
she found her one, her heart, her home

Ghosts of a boy lost long ago
haunt my dreams, how I miss him so
Strength and Honor his virtues true
always pushing his limits new
His girl beside, ever in love
he spreads his wings, soaring above
the fire inside, yearning to roam
returning oft, to her, his home

Ghosts of home lost long ago
haunt my dreams, how I miss it so
Life and laughter felt deep inside
fairy-tale love could never hide
from hearts and souls who became one
each time they met, mistakes undone
Together take on fears unknown
to protect this, their love, their home

in the permeating darkness
dreaming alone

Dancing with the fireflies

Sunrise o'er the horizon
Beckons me to open roads
Riding fast and soaring free

Sanitarium

Written to suit a friend's purpose, for use in a story line. After being given three words, I was to create a twisted poem around that; keeping in mind I know the first three chapters and deducing where the plot may lead... here lies attempt number one. [After sharing Attempt #1] It will apparently work perfectly ^_^


Sanitarium

Shards of glass scattered 'round
bloody shadows kiss the ground
baleful voice speaking sweet
come this way on mortal feet

All alone, cast away
joining in demented play
lost inside, dare not tell
what goes on in 'sylum cells

Whisp'ring souls never cease
pain and pills give naught their peace
crimson screams, severed core
wit and reason live no more
